5 Exterior Function
The construction of the fins is based on two vertically placed frames
with the same shape as the main frame. The elastomer frame of the fins
have local reinforced fibers to achieve the right stiffness. For hydro
dynamic purposes the fins are gradually tapered towards the end.
The piston is shown as a design element so that the user can see the
whole mechanism, this honest design should give the user a better understanding
of the product.
The hydro dynamic movement of the fins are powered by a pneumatic system.
The movement of the fins generates force that propels the craft forward
using the same principle as normal diving fins. The piston is a double
piston that expands and contracts simultaneously to decease lateral
motion of the craft.
